Even It Up! praises Michael Kirby

with 2 comments

Even It Up! loves Justice Michael Kirby, recently retired from the High Court, who said something in his 2007 Hawke Lecture that we just have to repeat here, because this is exactly what Even It Up! is all about:

The right to disagree or dissent from the majority view… when things seem wrong or unjust is one of the most important freedoms that exist in a democracy.

Australian society should value its dissenting citizens.

Today’s dissent may become the basis of tomorrow’s consensus.

Even It Up! is wondering if Justice Kirby would like to be our patron…

    • Even It Up! loves Michael Kirby (even if he didn’t respond to our request for him to be our patron!)
